It seems like the rise of the shared office space, in Newport Beach offices and elsewhere, has come out of nowhere. A report from the Commercial Real Estate Development Association notes that America started out with one coworking space in 2005 and since then, hundreds have popped up all over the country.
But why is this way of working becoming so popular? For small startups and even a few larger companies, coworking is clearly the wave the future and the reasons below explain the shift.
When an entrepreneur starts a new venture, their options for space in the past usually include their home office or a hunt for inexpensive office space, and oftentimes these small business owners would end up clearing out a workspace somewhere in their houses or setting up shop at the nearest Starbucks.
But the attractive prices offered by these these attractive shared office spaces in Newport Beach and beyond has helped fuel their popularity.
While working from home has its perks, coming to a communal workplace every day allows people to meet other like-minded professionals that they wouldn’t otherwise. Casual interactions at the copier and while getting in-between meeting coffee can spark fresh ideas, connect people to new jobs or the right hires, and make the experience of working every day much richer.
Because coworking spaces are often open with common areas, networking is much more facilitated than in loud cafes and traditional office buildings alike.
It’s not exactly the free coffee and snacks that make the amenities of a shared space so attractive. The professional mailing address and phone number lend businesses credibility that’s harder to build from a kitchen table, and oftentimes included internet, phone, printers, copiers, and fax machines make the idea of sharing space even more sensible.
These amenities are all available in other types of office space, but not at the price point small businesses are looking for.
One of the most prominent reasons shared space has become mainstream is the atmosphere it comes with. Modern and sleek with a dash of excitement, it seems like businesses are finding success in these types of offices. The optimistic attitude is contagious, and leaders with companies on the rise want to be a part of that.
All of these reasons for the rise of Newport Beach shared office space stem from one overarching truth: this is a way of doing business, not just doing work. These types of offices are sure to continue their meteoric ascent in the future, and they might just be the type of workplace you’ve been looking for.
